Remembering Robin williams

Actor and comedian Robin Williams was known for his fast-paced, improvisational performance style and for his performances in films. Robin McLaurin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014) was an American actor and comedian. Starting off as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the mid 1970s, he is credited with leading its "comedy renaissance". After rising to fame as Mork in the TV series Mork & Mindy (1978–82), Williams went on to establish a career in both stand-up comedy and feature film acting. During his career, he starred as a voice actor in several animated films. His voice role as the Genie in the animated, musical fantasy film, Aladdin (1992) was written specifically for Williams. The film's directors stated that they took a risk by writing the the role, and successfully convinced him to take it.
