UN Day World Wildlife Day 2023 (and 50th Anniversary of first signing of CITES)   When: 3 March 2023 Theme: Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation Every 3rd of March, wildlife is celebrated all over the world for the UN World Wildlife Day . This date was chosen as it is the birthday of CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora , signed in 1973. This World Wildlife Day 2023 falls on the 50th Anniversary of CITES coming into being. Since its inception, CITES has stood at the junction of trade and conservation. It has sought to build partnerships and reconcile differences between the groups that are guided and governed by its regulations.

Do You Know? (Fisheries Facts) Blue wheal is the largest animal of the world reaching up to 10 m. The oarfish ( Regalecus glesne ) is the world’s largest teleost, reaching lengths of 8 m to as much as 12 m. Whole specimen are rare. Whale shark is the largest fish. Most sharks are harmless- at least to humans. Nevertheless, 25 species of sharks are known to have attacked humans, and at least 12 more are suspected of doing so. Three are particularly dangerous- the great white, tiger and bull sharks. Shark jaws display triangular teeth and rows of spears. Each tooth has even small teeth along its edges. was a calm beach ! never in my life i have seen calicut beach so peaceful or should i say DEAD ! no thanks to the amount of silt which washed in the beach due to which there is no waves in the sea ! was real bored by the silents of the once so talkative sea of calicut ! its again time for low resolution photos from my mobile phone ! as yesterday i visited calicut beach to have a good time before i leave for one month on my tour ! sun is out but due to heavy clouds in the evening for the usual evening shower cant really see but of some reflections in sea.
